Topic: RME Digiface 96 Hammerfal move from old PC tower to new(er) laptop

I have an ageing RME Digiface 96 interface (nuendo actually but I understand they're the same box) connected to a PCIe card in an equally ageing PC tower.  I will soon have a new(er) laptop from work (ASUS G752VS). My question is if there is some way to still use my interface with the ASUS laptop? In the day, I believe that a PCMCIA card would enable the connection to a laptop. But I also understand that laptops haven't had PCMCIA slots for quite a while.

The ASUS has a Thunderbolt 3 port.

Is there a solution via some kind of adapter? Or am I forced to obtain a new(er) interface if I want to retire the tower and base my recording system in the ASUS laptop?

Here is a thread about this :

Sonnet Tech is a manufacturer of adapter boxes for such things.
Familiarize yourself on their website. https://www.sonnettech.com

It is not cheap, at the end it is probably time for a new interface.
Have a look at RME UCX ll : https://rme-audio.de/fireface-ucx-ii.html
