Topic: [Solved] SPDIF and AES Channels Swapped in driver/software?

Hi All,

I recently moved to a new Mac and that came along with a lot of changes so forgive me if this all ends up being an error on my part.  I'm using an original HDSPe AIO with DriverKit 1.11 and Firmware v201 on Sonoma with an M2 processor.

My setup has always relied on the AES and SPDIF connections to connect to a hardware processor, though I monitor through the Main Analog 1+2.  After migrating and updating to the new drivers I'm seeing what appears to be a swap of AES and SPDIF as channels in software.  Meaning, when I select AES as an output, the SPDIF output meters in TotalMix react and vice versa.  At first I thought it was an issue with my DAW IO setup but this carries to other applications that see and can select discrete IO of the AIO card.

The issue is the same as input.  My hardware front end is connected to the AIO card only with AES, but selecting AES as an input on the software side yields no signal.  Setting it to SPDIF does (again, no SPDIF is actually connected).

Here is a screenshot.  This is my DAW's IO setup page.  This is the outputs.  The channel names along the top come from the device drivers or Mac OS (Not sure, but I don't write them in).  You can see I have AES selected as the main output and 2 little blue meters showing the output signal.  On the right is TotalMix where you can see that the SPDIF playback and hardware meters are reacting.  If I swap the IO channel in my DAW to SPDIF, the signal goes to AES outputs.  And it really does too, because despite only having AES cables connected setting to SPDIF is what delivers signal to my hardware processor.

Is this version of Totalmix not the latest 1.86 ?

M1-Sonoma, Madiface Pro, Digiface USB, Babyface silver and blue

It's 1.85.  I'll check for a newer version but I just installed these drivers two days ago.

Edit: Looks like 1.86 is beta.

you can download from here :

It works fine and I have the channels right in the DAWs.
What is your DAW ?
It receives or interpretes the information wrong.

M1-Sonoma, Madiface Pro, Digiface USB, Babyface silver and blue

Are you saying there's a problem with TotalMix or with my DAW?  I'm using Studio One.  As I mentioned in my original post this problem is present in every software on my computer.  Here are screenshots of two standalone guitar processor apps on my computer.  They also need to be set to SPDIF to see signal coming over AES.

Yup, that fixed it.  Thanks
