Topic: Clock synchronization: UFX III connected to M-16 DA

I am considering to use UFX III connected to M-16 DA for OTB mixing.

The data flow would be then:
DAW channels (out) --> UFX III --> MADI optical connection --> M-16 DA --> Analog Summing --> back to UFX analog input.

What is the recommended clocking solution? Is it more convenient to select MADI in the M-16 DA Clock Section, or to connect UFX WCK Out to M-16 WCK In, and then select WCK in the M-16 Clock Section?

Or, as an alternative, to set M-16 as master clock and UFX as slave?

Less cables = more convenient ?
Then I would try without wordclock cables and use the Madi optical input as clock-source.
I learnt it that way : make the analog output converter be clock master.
Therefore UFX clock-mode external Madi optical and the M-16 clock internal.
The other way around works as well (no difference in sound-quality).
