I just found out the reason for my VLC player on macOS crashed immediately on playing back almost any video. It happens only with the RME audio interface (in may case a Madiface XT) selected as audio destination. I think this only happened after installing the latest drivers available.

When I use a virtual audio connection routing the audio to the RME interface (in my case I have DIRAC installed) this problem is gone, which is my workaround. However, it would be nice to know how to fix it. May be a problem with VLC software or with the latest drivers.
