Topic: UFX vs UFXII USB Connection only

It maybe has been asked but i can not find a clear answer, just a straight up question. UFX vs UFX II. ONLY the USB functionality difference if everything else is not important, never mind Sound AND I/Os, this or that, just straight up USB Connection comparison,  forget the FireWire for a minute...is there any difference at all? Is it worth upgrading to 2 just for USB Connection difference or there is not any at all? Thanks

I got enough.

Re: UFX vs UFXII USB Connection only

You can check interface differences with my Excel sheet, look here:

My blog article here explains the differences between UFX and UFX+ (*)
https://www.tonstudio-forum.de/blog/Entry/68-RME-UFX/

(*) UFX+ and UFX II are the same except no MADI and because of the low channel count USB2 based (no USB3, no thunderbolt).

Thank You, so in other words there is no difference at all.

I got enough.

This I didn't say wink Again, what I mean … You can use my blog article comparing "UFX vs UFX+"
for your goal to compare "UFX with UFX II" because UFX+ and UFX II are so close to each other.

There were many enhancements between UFX and UFX+/UFX II, and this is summarized in the blog article.

And now the distance between UFX and UFX II became even bigger because the UFX II got the following enhancements from UFX III:
- got the analogue board of the UFX III (slightly improved technical specs and with converters from ADI-2 Pro FS)
- got enhanced digital section ("triple SPDIF"); AES and both ADAT ports work independent of each other
- both ADAT ports can be switched to optical SPDIF
- UFX II and UFX III can get the new room EQ and Crossfeed (UFX doesn't have FPGA resources left for that)

If you have the budget, get UFX III, more headroom for expansions.
It is also beneficial to be able to use some of the MADI ports for creating interesing submixes and for loopback recording.
