Re: routing in to out on linux with ffado

In Totalmix click onto the hardware output channel 3.
It gets highlighted (active), then pull-up the fader of hardware input channels 1, 2 or 3 (sending synth signal to output 3 to the Sherman)
Don't pull-up fader of input 5 (while output 3 is active) it would create a feedback thru the Sherman !

Re: routing in to out on linux with ffado

I overlooked you are on Linux, you don't have a working Totalmix and the standalone functionality of the FF400 is probably not sufficient for routing. You may have to do the routing in Totalmix on another computer and use the FF400 afterwards on Linux as it keeps the routing in memory for standalone work.
Is Ffado a channel routing software ? you want use it instead of Totalmix ?
I doubt this can communicate with the FF400.

ffado.org - I also didn’t know about it before.

Re: routing in to out on linux with ffado

It seems to be a firewire audio "class compliant" driver for Linux.
The FF400 needs to be prepared in advance. On Windows or Mac.

I think it’s more than just that. But the informations on the website aren’t very useful…

Re: routing in to out on linux with ffado

with ffado we could routing everything but not exactly as totalmix

Re: routing in to out on linux with ffado

For using the FF400 in your scenario you have to use Totalmix to prepare the unit, there is no way around this.
