Topic: How to be notified on new firmwares?

Hi,

I'm a little lost. I randomly check the website or the forum for firmware updates, but is there a way to get notified on any new firmware update for my RME ADI-2/4 PRO SE?

Like a thread to subscribe, a mailing list, or an rss feed to subscribe?

Thanks.

Re: How to be notified on new firmwares?

Yes, I suggested a similar tool. A kind of RME Update Center software that is installed on a computer and periodically (approx. daily) checks the designated server for firmware, driver and application updates. If something is found newer than the current one, a notification is issued and an optional update button for the user.

You like those nag-screens?!

Not another software please sad Way easier to have something server-side, like a thread on this forum dedicated to fw updates.

I don't see a problem confirming the popup update request using a button.

Re: How to be notified on new firmwares?

Reading this >ADI-2 & 2/4 Pro series, ADI-2 DAC series< forum is enough for me to stay informed. If someone wants to get an email if something happens regarding the firmware: subscribe the sticky firmware update thread. I don't like software that roams the World Wide Web on its own, and sometimes my firewall doesn't either.

If it was just this one I wouldn‘t care…

Every time I switch on one of my Windows 10 or 11 PCs  I‘m flushed with those - I really hate it.

iDevices are just a bit better, but …

Re: How to be notified on new firmwares?

Well, there is no bloatware on my WinPCs. I removed everything that came by default and was not used within the first week of launching these systems. Since then there have been no unwanted notifications or bloats in the task manager. But RME firmware/driver/application updates will be helpful. If no one wants a small notification app, email will work too.

Re: How to be notified on new firmwares?

I wish the ADI-2 Remote app supported firmware update for hardware & automatic update for the software itself.
