Topic: possible driver conflict
Here´s the scenario :
MacBook Pro M1, OS 14.5. At home : Fireface 400 (the old one) latest version of driver and firmware for this device.
At the venue : Digiface Dante, Firmware v57, Treiber DK 4.10
I´m having occasional audio drop outs - sadly not on a regular basis, appr. about 1x - 2x every 30 minutes.
There are no network problems.(checked with headphones and loopback in totalmix, where I could record the dropouts)
Tried out several cables and adapters without success.
Using the kernel driver for the digiface, the rate of dropouts was increasing.
A differentMacBook Pro M3, OS 14.1, Driver Kit driver, same setup performed without any dropouts.
Playback software on both machines the same : Qlab 5
Today I deleted everything related to the fireface including the driver, and lo and behold : no more dropouts.
Luckily I am about to get a fireface UCX II to replace my fireface 400 anyway, so I don´t need the fireface driver in the near future.
Which leads me to those 2 questions :
1. Is this a known issue ?
2. Will I have the same problem with two different DriverKit drivers (Fireface UCXII und Digiface Dante) on my machine ?
Anybody tested this configuration ?
Or anything from RME side regarding this issue ?
