Topic: possible driver conflict

Here´s the scenario :
MacBook Pro M1, OS 14.5. At home : Fireface 400 (the old one) latest version of driver and firmware for this device.
At the venue : Digiface Dante, Firmware v57, Treiber DK 4.10
I´m having occasional audio drop outs - sadly not on a regular basis, appr. about 1x - 2x every 30 minutes.
There are no network problems.(checked with headphones and loopback in totalmix, where I could record the dropouts)
Tried out several cables and adapters without success.
Using the kernel driver for the digiface, the rate of dropouts was increasing.
A differentMacBook Pro M3, OS 14.1, Driver Kit driver, same setup performed without any dropouts.
Playback software on both machines the same : Qlab 5
Today I deleted everything related to the fireface including the driver, and lo and behold : no more dropouts.
Luckily I am about to get a fireface UCX II to replace my fireface 400 anyway, so I don´t need the fireface driver in the near future.
Which leads me to those 2 questions :
1. Is this a known issue ?
2. Will I have the same problem with two different DriverKit drivers (Fireface UCXII und Digiface Dante) on my machine ?
Anybody tested this configuration ?
Or anything from RME side regarding this issue ?

Re: possible driver conflict

Try to describe more preceise the exact problem.
In my mind it could be 1000 reasons. For me, it is not possible to understand:
which interface finally has the droputs?
what is how connected where?

If i read, dropouts occur on:

MacBook Pro M1, OS 14.5.

and then:

A differentMacBook Pro M3, OS 14.1, Driver Kit driver, same setup performed without any dropouts.

-> I would say: its related on HW/SW of the first Macbook.

So, not a driver conflict or an "issue". Nobody could give you a serious answer with this information.

Anyhow, my First Impression: it seems to be related on your first Host-Mac?

Re: possible driver conflict

The m1 Mabook was connected directly to the digiface via usb , that´s where the dropouts occur... I tried several things to nail it down, including loopback recording to exclude network issues. That dropouts occured on the recording, which points to something not related to the network.
I checked several cables, but the main clue is the other macbook having no dropouts.
So yes, I agree, it probably is related to something with the M1 Macbook. As the dropouts disappeared after I deleted the fireface driver, I guessed, the dropouts were somehow related to this driver.
It´s a guess, that´s why I said possible driver conflict. Could be coincidence that the dropouts disappeared after deleting the fireface driver.
That´s why I posted here, to find out, if somebody else had similar problems.
As of now, there´s not much I can do to find the exact cause of those dropouts, as I don´t have accesse to the venue (summer holidays).
I could try to install the fireface driver again and see if the dropouts reappear when the holidays are over, but even then it would be no definite proof of a driver conflict.
As I said the dropouts occur once or twice every 30 minutes, sometimes less, so it´s kind of hard to find the cause.
I still hope that there are other people here, who have a similar setup, just to be sure, if I´m the only one.
