Topic: Fireface ucx ii rca/Cinch input question

hi

im trying to route stereo signal from a radio with two cinch outputs into the fireface.

is using adapters to convert the cinch to 6.3 jacks and plugging them into the line ins at the front or back the only option

OR

could i also plug them into the cinch adapters on the breakout cable?

the second option hasn’t worked for me yet but maybe because i didn’t set up totalmix correctly.

thanks!

Yes you have to use an adapter cinch to TS

No, those are digital inputs AES or SPDIF, not for analog signal.

That was really no rocket science ...

Wondering whats unclear, you only need to read whats printed on the back

... or written in the manual p 10

The rear panel of the Fireface UCX II features 4 analog inputs and 6 analog outputs, the power socket, USB, DURec (USB-A), word clock, MIDI I/O, ADAT I/O, and a connector for the included breakout cable D-sub to XLR/RCA (SPDIF/AES I/O).

Re: Fireface ucx ii rca/Cinch input question

You are right... But most people do not know what XLR, AES means.... And few even RCA or SPDIF. And they are not aware of digital/analog aspects of different connectors.

IMHO, it is not "wise" to use XLR/RCA sockets for the both analog and digital signals as it might bring sort of confusion. But things are as they are....
