Topic: SSD help needed

Hi,
I am trying to use a 240GB Netac 2.5" SATA III 6Gb/s SSD for DURec on the UFX+.
I have formatted to FAT32.
The UFX is not recognising the ssd and shows the message, "File system error".
I have read the manual and it definitely states that full performance will be available using a SATA SSD with a USB 3 to SATA adapter.
Can anyone please offer any assistance?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use a partitioning program (free) to check if there is really no hidden partition and the whole disk is FAT32. Another possibiity is that the SSD draws too much peak current so communication is interrupted. Some USB3 to SATA adapters allow the use of an external power supply.

Re: SSD help needed

Hello

Unfortunately this simple process cannot be do it through Windows 11 until 24H2 without a 3rd party app sad, Microsoft do not allow creating FAT32 partitions higher than 32GB via Diskpart or Disk Management regardless OP got a 240GB SSD.

I'm also using a 60GB SSD SATA III with an USB 3.1 Gen2 external enclosure, no problem formatting at FAT32 without limits under Linux but cannot access to files/partition under Windows. DURec recognizes the partition/disk successfully, recording without problems in Standalone Mode and via TotalMix FX 1.96 Beta 7.

Re: SSD help needed

I just read today that the next Win11 update will allow formatting FAT32 partitions up to 2T in the Disk Management app.

In the meantime, this is a nice GUI app for the existing command line FAT32 formatting support.
