Topic: Best input choice to connect a mixer

Hi.

I'm using a summing mixer with balanced outputs, both TRS and XLR. To connect it to my UFXII and tried XLR->Front XLR Mic Input as well as TRS->Rear TRS Input.
Now since the specs of the rear TRS inputs, front XLR and front TRS inputs all differ slightly I'm wondering what is the best/recommended connection?
FWIW, the XLR->XLR connections comes in about 5dB lower than the rear TRS @+4dBu. I volume matched both connections (TRS->rear TRS and XLR-> front XLR) and made a null test which results in a ~-20dB difference IIRC. Se there are quite some differences.
Any recommendations or does it just not matter?

Thanks,
Bo

Re: Best input choice to connect a mixer

OK. XLR->Rear TRS won.
1. No risk of accidentally enabling 48V.
2. No need to toggle INST and
3. No cables and LED flicker on the front.
4. Soundwise it doesn't seem to matter.
