Hello,
I have a new HDSPe AES PCIe card in my Windows desktop. The AES D-Sub 25 (Tascam-pinout) cable between Mytek 8x192 and HDSPe. All drivers/firmware updated.
TotalMix is displaying the Output, but the mytek has nothing. What I mean is, mytek is not getting any input from the HDSPe.
What am I doing wrong?
Clock source is internal.

What digital I/O board does the 8-ch Mytek have?
Is the protocol that it supports AES or SPDIF?
Check RME driver settings, switch between consumer (SPDIF) and professional (AES) and see whether this changes something.
If AES: [x] professional
If SPDIF: [ ] professional
Mytek needs to be configured as clock slave then and read clock via this digital input.

Yes I have [x] professional. And mytek has the AES interface.
What I now believe is missing is the BNC cable between mytek and HDSPe. Without it, how will it sink (clock)? How can one be the master and the other slave?
Getting BNC cable tomorrow and will try again.

I can set the mytek Ext clock to AES. The Hammerfall DSP Setting, the only clock source available is Internal.
Something amiss. I just don't get it. No input getting to mytek.

Then make RME to slave, by SteadyClock technology RME devices are perfect clock slaves.

The HDSPe AES has two D-sub connectors. Are you sure you plugged in the correct one? Otherwise you might use channels 9-16. Also we had lots of users that thought to use a Tascam cable when in reality they had a Yamaha one.

Only the first one is plugged into the PCIE, the second card is a dummy PCIE, also I did not connect the second because it is not needed.
As far as I know, both mytek and HDSPe uses Tascam.

You should also see the AES returns from the Mytek in the HDSPe AES status panel (Lock or Sync). Nothing there means totally wrong cable or mis-configuration of the Mytek, which has several routing options for AD and DA.

Having the AES cable connected makes no difference on Hammerfall or Mytek.
If it was working I think Hammerdfall should have AES1-4 as Sync.
At this point I think the Mytek AES connection is bad.
Yesterday I connected the BNC Cable and it registered on Hammerfall.
And I tested the 25 pin cable and it looks fine.
Im going to try to connect with Mytek and see if they can help.

Unfortunately the pdf hurts, why do they publish a pdf with parts flipped 90° ?!
They call the device Mastering but they can't even master a pdf.

@ kayak2024: how did you test the 25 pin cable?
And yes, you should have seen all 4 AES inputs either Lock or Sync.

If the pdf opens in a browser, somewhere you should be able to turn it 90 degrees.
MyTek uses mono, so the equation to MyTek is (RME AES 1-4) times 2 = AES 1-8.
I tested the cable with my MultiMeter using the diode settings, you know, the one that goes beep! The better test would to test resistance, I could try that.
Ahhh, you got me thinking. Plug one end to the HDSP and leave the other open. Use meter to check for signals on the open side.
Or, there is software logic to not send signal if it isn't connected. (that would suck)
Your cable is D to D, which means it must cross the connections internally to be able to connect the outputs of one device with the inputs of another. Yes, you can check it with the multimeter, but be aware of what you need to check - output pins to input pins. I fear that cable is just '1:1 through' and can't work.
BTW, that cable (if correct) would also work between the 2 D-sub of the HDSPe AES (I should have had that idea earlier). Try that.
