Topic: 12mic issues - reset for no reason

Apologies ahead. I think I already came across a post related to this issue, but I can't find it back.

Yesterday I found my 12mic being reset (routing, names, etc.) - so I had to set it up again.

I have no idea, why it got resetted (maybe by an automatic update?)

Can I prevent such behaviour by any means in future?

Thanks and best regards
Claus

Re: 12mic issues - reset for no reason

Strange, I think this should not happen.

According to the manual, any change in the device configuration is persistent. After a power loss, the device will revert to its last state: https://docs.rme-audio.com/12mic/120-1c_presets/

Upgrading the firmware is no automatic, it is a manual process that you need to initiate.
According to the manual, it retains all settings, including presets.
See manual: https://docs.rme-audio.com/12mic/010-2t … re_update/

You are sure that you didn't initiate a factory reset accidentally by loading the 16th preset labelled Factory Defaults?

I would contact RME support by e-mail if they do not reply here.

Re: 12mic issues - reset for no reason

There is no automatic update, not sure what happened. If this occurs again, send the unit in. Is the firmware up to date?

Re: 12mic issues - reset for no reason

Thanks to both of you. Firmware is up to date (latest version from the RME web page). Quite sure I did not hit the presets button accidentally.
I thought I read about that issue before. I have to watch out for it again. Hope, it will remain a 'one hit wonder'
