Topic: RME Babyface Pro FS x Focusrite Octopre MKII ADAT dropouts

Hi!

Hopefully this is the right place to answer this question,

I've been having some issues for a whole now with my babyface pro fs connecting with my octopre mk2 via adat.

The ADAT is all set up correctly as far as I'm aware. They both sync and work correctly together

However roughly every half an hour to an hour, I will experience some signal dropouts/the resolution of the audio goes really low for about 2 minutes. Sorry if i'm not using the correct terminology but it's the same as when my CPU becomes overloaded when running a billion plugins on ableton.

Any sort of insight into this or resolution would be appreciated as this has been a pain for a while now

Thanks!

The audio goes low for 2 minutes... Never heard of such.
What exactly goes low ? The volume level of the mic input signals from the Octopre are falling down ? Immediately or slowly ?
From Where to where ? From -10 dB to -40dB or something like that ?
And after 2 minutes the volume comes back to normal ?
Your titel of the thread says dropouts, are there also dropouts during these two minutes ?
No glitches or stuttering ? The DAW plays fine ?

Hi!

Sorry i should have been clearer. It doesn't go low in volume.

It glitches out and the resolution of the audio goes lower (as in it sounds bitcrush-y)

there's no stuttering and DAW seems to be fine. And the dropouts will happen within these two minutes randomly.

Essentially it sounds like when i overload the CPU on my laptop, but looking at ableton, there isn't any issues with the CPU being overloaded during these times

Thanks!

Re: RME Babyface Pro FS x Focusrite Octopre MKII ADAT dropouts

Thanks for the respond, I thought it may be the Octopre has a problem with power supply and the preamp losing power after a while, but now from what you say we should look at the Babyface .
What computer OS do you use ?
What is the firmware version in the Babyface ? The Fireface USB Settings will show.
What is the driver version ?
