Same here.
Back from 10 days holidays then my used UFX+ only turns on after a few long minutes, long after my MasOS has boot up. Let's say 5 or 6 minutes or maybe 10 as I can't stand being in front of UFX+ with all its lights off... i can't stand waiting for gears or computers in general but here it is quite depressing.
Hard to imagine such high priced interfaces could suffer from bad/cheap caps. I hope it's only psu capacitors...
Hoping too to not spend much $ on this considering i've already paid for these repairs on initial price (+/- 2000€). Plus here there are so much other valuable vintage (+40yo) things to be repaired. This will ruin my next weekend off. So sad.
It runs hot from the beginning. So got fresh air up and down my rack.
On a french forum I talked shit about poor psu used for Roland SRV and SDE-330 delay/reverb units. All components for psu has to be changed except regulators. But there are from mid-90... on GS forum you can see them starting to go bad after 10 years, which is quite a shame even for this kind of non-pro small fx units. 30 or 40 years old is okay for psu to failed on preamp, comps or other analogue high-end gears for 2k bucks.
RME sound in probably high-end in sound. Not their units. not like Chandler, Urei, Empirical. It pairs well with my Roland SDE-330 cheap delay.
Cheers.
