Topic: Fireface 400 Problems in Snow Leopard / Permissions Error in Console
Hi,
I sent the below support request to the support email address a week ago but disappointingly have heard nothing back.
I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard (10.6.3). I get some problems when Hot Swapping my Fireface 400; my machine often freezes or doesn't connect properly to the Fireface... it looks connected from the LEDs on the front panel but won't play audio or respond to volume up/down on the keyboard and Ableton Live won't open. If I restart everything works fine. But not if I plug it in, then unplug it, then plug it back in again.
I've installed all the latest software from the website (firmware and drivers).
**I notice in the console that the startup log says "launchctl: dubious ownership on file (skipping): /Library/LaunchAgents/de.rme.audio-firefaceagent.plist"**
I've attempted to repair permissions a number of times but that message won't go away. I've also tried removing the file manually and re-installing but the permission error remains.
Permissions for that file are:
"Alex (Me) - Read & Write
staff - Read Only
everyone - Read Only"
Permissions for all other files in that folder are (like Logitech Control Center or Little Snitch):
"System - Read & Write
wheel - Read Only
everyone - Read only"
I've attempted to add the "System" user but I cannot see it when clicking the "+" button to "Add a new user/group". Frankly, there's nothing more I can do... please help!
I'm on a dual 2.8ghz MBP with 4GB Ram.
Thanks
