Topic: Best way to connect FF400 and octamic II

Hi!

What's the best way to connect a FF400 and a octamic II??
Adat cable and BNC for the clock??
These will be my only devices for the moment.
Should I put the FF400 as master and octamic II as slave??

Thanks!!

You seem to have the idea already. Why not try and let us know if you have a problem.

That's a good answer to almost every question in almost every audio forum.

Just want to add that sometimes you don't have problems with devices BUT you are not connecting these devices in their best way.

Thanks

ADAT alone should be enough. Octamic as master is the simplest (working) solution.

Yes, but you have to fiddle with dip switches to change sample rates. With a BNC connection, that won't be necessary. Only if you change e.g. from 48 to 96k.

So, if (my case) I'm going to be recording only in 44.1 and 48, I put both adat and BNC, and select octamic II as master, and I won't be touching the rear panel. Right??

Thanks for your replies.

No, set FF as master, Octamic as slave.
