Topic: Problem: Fireface 800 with motherboard Gigabyte X58 does not record

Hi, I have a new computer wich has a Gigabyte motherboard X58A-UD3R, i7 940, 4 GB of RAM and I use XP as the operating system,  I've always used the Fireface 800 with other computers without problems.
Now I can hear the music played by the new computer, but I have no sound  from analog input in revenue and therefore does not register
can someone help me?
sorry for my bad English :-)

Re: Problem: Fireface 800 with motherboard Gigabyte X58 does not record

What can I do?
Is it possible that the motherboard is incompatible with the Fireface 800?
I read on the forum that other people use it without problems.
I installed the driver Version 2.9991.
Do i have to try the 3.028 version?
Firmware updated to the latest version
i'm sad sad

You need to start with the basics.  When you go through the driver loading procedure, does the fireface show up in Device Manager?  Does the red host light on the front of the Fireface go out when you connect the Firewire cable?

Do you have another computer you can try your Fireface with to make sure it is working OK?

Do you have the ability to test the FF800 with a PCIe Firewire card?  It could be a problem with the Gigabyte onboard Firewire chipset.  Can you test your Gigabyte motherboard with a different firewire interface (preferably another Fireface)?  That is about all I can think of to try.  It certainly seems like it should work.

Is there a specific input you are testing? Is this a mic pre, or rear input?

Well, what exactly does it show? What have you connected to which input etc.
Are the mic inputs 7/8 switched correctly (front/rear)?
