Topic: FF 400 vs iMac

Hallo,
does the Fireface 400 still have problems with a iMac firewire?
I have an iMac (2009) and I would want to buy a Fireface 400 (or FF UC).

The FF400 does not have a problem, the iMac does. It depends on which FW chipset version you have on your iMac. You can use the instructions in the link below to check.

If you have the bad (Agere Rev 6) chipset, then the UC would be a better choice, IMO.

This is my iMac FW chipset:

kernel    FireWire (OHCI) TI ID 823f built-in now active, GUID 0026bbfffe52fbf2; max speed s800.

Is it compatible with FF 400?
