Topic: A possibly easy question about Babyface's Loopback.
Hi all,
I've been through both the manual and this board's Search function but I can't seem to wrap my head around the Loopback function. Specifically it seems strange that when I press it, nothing visibly changes in the Mixer.
I get the general theory, as per p59 in the manual: it takes the hardware out on the selected channel (i.e. PH3/4 or AN 1/2) and sends it back to the inputs. What I don't get is how you select *which* inputs that output loops back to. It would appear it defaults to AN1/2.
At this point the only use I have for it is to send the Main mix back to an input that's *NOT* AN1/2 (because I use those to record with) so I can have full-volume signal going to Digicheck all the time so I can monitor the Main mix.
I'm sure it's something very simple - otherwise I'm getting pretty comfortable with the Babyface after having it a couple of months. If anyone could shed some light on this, it would be much appreciated.
all the best,
Matthew
ps. If it matters, I'm running it on a Mac running 10.6.7. Latest versions of everything Babyface-related.
