Topic: Routing with hdspmixer

Hi,

I reactivated my hdsp 9632 in Linux today and try to get a custom routing pattern in hdspmixer.
If I select a output channel in the drop down menus nothing happens. If I open the dropdown again the previously selected channel is deselected again.

Is there still a way to set routing manually like it worked a few years ago with
"amixer -c 1 cset numid=5 src,dest,gain"

Specificly I want to route several Playback Channels to SPDIF if needed.
SPDIF out works only if I select Preset 6 and therefore route all Channels to SPDIF which is not my desired goal.

I am using in-kernel alsa (kernel 2.6.39.1)
alsa-tools-git
alsa-utils-1.0.24.2
hdsp 9632 firmware v154
gentoo linux

Re: Routing with hdspmixer

Hey Dorsai, likely this won't be of any use to you anymore.
But using the hdspmixer in it's current state you can check the "submix" box in the top-right.
All tracks are alligned to what's below in the output track section, if in doubt just uncheck the "submix" box again to see
which channel it is targetting.

When in submix mode go to the tracks you wish to route to the SPDIF.
Then below these channels click on the black box to open up the menu with all of the checkboxes.
Select SPDIF, and just drag the faders up until you like the result.
