Topic: big trouble with HDSP MADI and ADI648

Please help me. I have HDSP Madi, Adi-648, Octamic-D, Adi 8dd, Lexicon PCM96, t.c.electronic Finalizer96k. some time it worked perfectly, but now i have big trouble with... I do not know with what, help me please here is the problem: when i connect my hdsp with adi-648 on totalmix 56 channels shows some signals at -24db and low-frequency signal at 25 Hz,  i posted some pictures. i tried the latest driver and tried the previous driver, i tried it on WIN-XP sp3 x64, tried it on WIN 7 x64, i tried it on 3 different computers, WC by MADI or BNC WC master HDSP or ADI648 no matters - all the same.. and everywhere all the same.
I recorded the sound that enters the channel, the sound of the monitors did not hear, but the record shows dc offset

please help me i don`t understand what i do wrong,  it worked perfectly but now???? where is the problem: bad driver, problem with hdsp or ADI648?


P.S.I live in Ukraine and we have a very bad service center at the distributor (Real Music Ltd), there address is useless, you are my last hope.

What kind of signal is going into the 648, i.e. which AD converters are being used?

Did you try to switch off the Channel Routing (Matrix) on the 648?

MC: yes i tried to turn off matrix on 648, result the same
RME Support: this is very interesting: No signal is fed to the 648, are connected only HDSP and 648

You have to find the culprit in a simple step-by-step procedure. MADI card only - TM shows prob? If NO then connect MADI in to out on the card (while clock mode Master)? If NO then connect ADI-648 to MADI card, 648 set as slave to the MADI input signal. If YES now then at least make one connection ADAT to ADAT (loopback) at the 648. Still problem on all channels? 648 broken...

Does this mean that HDSP MADI broken? can this be fixed?

No, that simply means you have a wrong routing in TM. Maybe it helps to use the Matrix to see the real routing and to understand where your problem arises.

I turned off and on the matrix - no result.


P.S. only HDSP MADI  plugged in to out.

Maybe a reset is in order - did you ever load the factory preset 1 (click while ctrl is held down)?

whether there is a general discharge?

can this mechanical damage on the card?

Hmmm, then maybe the FPGA on the card got defective. You may need to send the card in for checking.

This cap is redundant, therefore no longer soldered. And it does not explain the problems that you see.

You could send the card in. Before you do, have you got another MADI source to test it with?

i have not another MADI source. can we try to somehow solve the problem on the internet? send you in our country is not easy.

I decided to send a card, just a question: how much repair? At least approximately 50-100 EURO, 200-300, 400-500?

P.S. This is wery important question to me if it cost $ 500 + shipping costs, then maybe i'll going bye new HDSPe, some time later
