TotalMix FX has been updated to 0.96, which includes some nice new features.
UFX: Dynamic meters shown besides the normal level meters. This feature requires the latest firmware with DSP version 1.44. The Dynamic meters can be configured in the Preferences dialog (F2) in three steps.
- Compressor/Expander. The Gain reduction from the Compressor and Expander settings is shown.
- Include Gain setting. When activated the 'makeup gain', set by the GAIN knob in the Compressor section, is shown as well. If Compressor/Expander is unchecked then this option is not available.
- Auto Level. When activated the amplification/reduction of the gain caused by the Auto Level process is shown.
This is a highly flexible setup and allows you to set the meters in the way you prefer them to work. To see the overall influence of all processes on the audio signal simply check all options. If you prefer to check the gain reduction of the Compressor/Expander only, like it is usually displayed on standard hardware units, then uncheck 'Include Gain setting'.
Note that due to Gain and the Auto Level working as both amplifier and attenuator, the Dynamic meters can (have to) show positive values too. Note also that the Dynamic meters are scaled exactly like the level meters, which are scaled like the fader track. Move the fader around to see where typical values are. The grey lines in the background are at -3, -6, -9, -12, -18 dB...
Babyface: Here we reworked the Speaker B function, making it super-comfortable and user-friendly by adding an option in the TM FX Key Command menu to control it with the left Select button on the Babyface. Additionally the function now works much better, so when using 'Link' Speaker B has the wheel (volume), Dim, Mono, Recall etc. working as expected. Try it, it's simply wonderful with two speaker sets, but also when you want to switch quickly between speakers and your phones! Please note that this function is limited to AN 1/2 and the Phones outs. SPDIF and ADAT are not supported.
