Topic: URGENT HELP NEEDED: UFX experiencing substantial drop outs.
Hello,
I am in urgent need of some help. I can't get my UFX to work properly after trying to unsuccessfully perform a driver and firmware update (I use Firewire port but realize update take place via USB port, etc.). I have read and re-read the manual and on-line instructions in the forum. Tried multiple times to install but the device is not cooperating. PC and UFX are not "playing nice". I fear that I may have a mismatch in driver vs. firmware based on upgrading in the wrong sequence, but I'm not sure.
My initial install of the firewire drivers worked fine and I was able to work on my projects without any problems since I bought the unit some months ago, until just yesterday when I finally decided to perform the driver and firmware update. Very stupid of my to do this in the middle of a project.
My dilemma is that I must turn in today (within the next 4 hours). The good news is that I'm almost done with it. All I need to finish is the mastering. So if I can get the UFX working within the next few hours I should be fine.
QUESTIONS: Has anyone out there experience the same thing. How can I perform a clean install once again? I don't mind reverting to the old firmware and SW to get it to work.
Here is my data:
Project: I work using the Firewire port.
PC: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit i7 950 12Gb
UFX: SW 1.44 running
Driver date: 21/03/11
Driver version: 3.044
Hardware Revision: 3.40
Problem/Symptoms:
*My current project has 15 vst's running but CPU usage is well below 25%.
*Current buffer size (latency) I'm running is 64 Samples but I've tried the entire range from 48 to 1024 and still no luck getting it to work.
*I'm experiencing considerable dropouts and loss of audio quality.
*I am therefore unable to complete my project.
Regards,
Jose
