Topic: FF800 noise/click/pop when switch programs
I am pasting what I've just emailed to support, maybe someone from the forum had the same experience and hopefully a solution:
Operation system (version/service pack): Win 7, SP1 64 bit
Mainboard Gigabyte Z68x UD5
RAM amount 16 gb
Network adapters : realtek PCIe GBE
Graphic card : Sapphire HD 5570 1gb DDR3
Other installed soundcards : none, built in is disabled
Which audio software (version) shows the problem: I think it happens when I switch between software that uses the audio card driver, and I guess it has to do with change in sample rate, because it mostly happens when, say, I switch from cubase project (44100 hz project) to google chrome with youtube opened (guessing a 48000 hz video?)
I have been using my FF 800 for 3 years with XP, and it was rock solid, I could switch between software and the programs handled the sharing of the driver pretty well..However I've upgraded my machine to a win 7 64 bit and this is my 4th day with the new machine, all my drivers are up to date and my problem is this: When I switch between software FF800 makes either a loud click noise (something like clock error noise) and sometimes a very loud whitenoise-like burst of noise....This is random of course, not always it happens...I am using FF out 9-10 as my windows audio out, and the rest as my cubase outs...But for some projects in cubase maybe 9-10 could be active too....could that be the problem? Or is there a known noise/pop/click problem with ff 800 - win 7 64 bit combo?
