Topic: FireFace UCX ......... a quick question please ?

Hi RME

Regarding the  FF UCX - in USB mode in Windows, is the lowest buffer setting  48 Samples  or  does it go down to  32 Samples or lower  ?

Thanks,
Ben

Re: FireFace UCX ......... a quick question please ?

The UCX can not break the Windows system limitation, but the new low latency converters reduce the overall latency: UC 43/28 to UCX 14/7 samples. Everytime, independent from any buffer settings.

Hi Knut !

Thats AWESOME - that means if I am right that overall - input and output - the overall AD/DA Latency is  ~50 Samples  less  than my UC ...... and  ~50 Samples is approx. just on  1.0ms ........ so, whereas my UC gives me a real-world  [ CEntrance measured ]  RTL  of  3.95ms  @  88.2k / 24 Bit ........ the UCX  at  88.2k / 24 Bit will deliver a real-world  RTL of  ~2.95ms ......... please tell me my maths and latency analysis is correct ?

If so, that is simply ASTOUNDING !!!!!!!

I think the advantage of 50 samples less is not a full ms at 88.2, but around a half and 1.1 ms at 44.1 kHz.

It's written in the product text, in the converter section.

Re: FireFace UCX ......... a quick question please ?

Are the converters the same as the ones used in the UFX?  I don't need  a name just wondering if they are different in any way.

Re: FireFace UCX ......... a quick question please ?

You will be able to answer that question with a look at the tech specs.
