Topic: Fireface400 driver 3.06 causing audio dropouts in Ableton Live

Hey all, just a heads up on an issue I've been having with the latest firewire driver version 3.06 on my 2.66gHz i7 MBP running OSX 10.7.3.

After installing the update, I started getting really bad audio dropouts and digital spikes when I tried to do anything in Ableton Live 8 (all versions, including the newest betas).  Using the same driver, there are no issues in Logic Pro 9, or the latest version of Studio One 2.  Downgrading to the version 2.90 firewire driver solves the issue, playback is normal in Live with no issues.

100% reproducible if I try installing the 3.06 driver again. 2.90 is fine for me so I'll continue to use it, bu wanted to bring the issue to the dev's attention.

Ok, apparently I just had a lucky streak, as this issue is happening again regardless of which host, driver version, or firewire cable I try.  The only thing I can think of is that my mainboard in the MBP was replaced recently, and somehow that has something to do with it.  sad

After an almost endless quest, I got rid of spikes and dropouts by flashing the BIOS with the latest
update. That would be the EFI in the world of mac, I guess.
