Topic: babyface worries...

i´m a little worried about my babyface unit!
i noticed a couple of days ago, that i could see lights, from within the unit, from "glitches" on the side and i started wondering if it´s supposed to be like that, or not!?
look att the images, taken from both sides, to know what i mean!
the side with no inputs looks fine to me, but shouln´t the other side look the same?

Re: babyface worries...

can someone who owns a babyface, please just take a quick look at the sides of the unit and compare it to my pictures?
does it look the same?

Re: babyface worries...

No, this case should be tightly sealed on both sides.

Re: babyface worries...

ok, that was what i was afraid of:-(
i´ve tried to carefully pull it together, but i was afraid to use much force!

what if i use more force...?
would it come together, or would i risk breaking something...?

maybe it just clicks into place...?

Re: babyface worries...

If it does not snap together easily, you should contact the reseller and see what they want to do.

Re: babyface worries...

unfortunatley it doesn´t snap together easily:-(
i´ve tried using as much force, as i think is safe!
i contacted my reseller and if i want to send it for service, they´ll just resend it to rme and i won´t be able to record and mix music, for a couple of months (probably):-(

i have no technical or electrical skills, but maybe i could just open up the babyface myself?
how hard can it be?
there are screws under the footpads!
i´ve noticed, cause one footpad is missing!
is this too risky?

Re: babyface worries...

As long as the unit works correctly and does not appear loose or so, I would not bother. Mine looks like this, not that much of a difference IMHO.

Opening the unit would void warranty.
