Topic: MADI FX AES outputs showing up as default outputs in Ableton Live HELP
Ok as the title states....the Madi Fx's aes outputs are showing up as a default output of 1 and 2 in ableton live causing me all types of problems. I need help. No big deal you think right? just switch? Nope not that easy. I'm using an Expert Sleepers ES-4 for Jitter Free Midi and it uses the coax in from a digital source which is of course the FX's 1 and 2. The problem that arises is that when you instantiate any instrument plug in or for that matter create a new audio track with the ES-4 plug in every daw will create that track with a default output of 1 and 2. Which wreaks havoc on the es-4 as the plug in tries to change audio data into spdif digital data which then jumbles and corrupts and locks up every synth. On top of this if i'm not careful with routing i will mistakenly change my mix outputs to 3 and 4 (this how ableton see's the madi fx's outputs) and BAM digital burst almost taking out my monitors and ears happens. So my question is...is there anyway to change the Madi Fx's default output behaviour? Such as changing the AES default outputs and inputs to somewhere else down the line and returning the main outputs (known officially on all daw's as out's 3 and 4) to a more standardized default of 1 and 2? It's not very clear in the total mix part of the manual on how to do this. Can someone walk me through this via an explanation here? BTW this also happens to me in Cubase 6.5 and I'm on Mac OSX 10.7.4
I also have that crazy issue with my HDX PT 10.3.2 rig blowing up on the splash screen due to it not being able to handle the number of channels reported by the FX...any ideas on a fix for this?
Thanks
