Can track record selection and arming not be done for DuRecording from the front panel?

Yes, of course... All explained in the manual.

That's right...and additional comment is, be patient and spend at least an hour with the front panel screen and these encoders (knob/button) going up/down, right/left. When I take UFX to location recording (stand alone, no laptop), I usually 'practice' a night before how I operate the encoders so I that I can set up parameters as quickly as possible on site. It's tough to browse all the functions of Total Mix FX in the small screen, but you'll get it eventually!

Ok that is good news then as that's one of the primary reasons I'm looking at the unit.
I hit the manual again, Rec/Stop/Playback, number of ch's selected are mentioned, "all setting directly available at the unit' -- Track selection then is in one of the display screens just not mentioned ?
