Topic: FF800 to ADI-4 DD to TC sync problem

Im having sync problem with this setup:
Macpro running 10.8 and Logic
FF800
This works fine!

But I want to use my TC effects in Logic.
So I connect from FF800 ADAT1 out  to ADI-4 DD ADAT1 in.
On ADI-4 DD I use the D 25 split AES/EBU cable to TC M2000 and TC Fireworx.

The TC effects audio bus works in Logic but the audio clicks and the lights on the ADI-4 DD (Input state) starts to flash (stable for a while the flash.

FF800 is set to master. The sync on ADI-4 DD is on ADAT and AES state is PRO. The TCs have AES/EBU as sync source.
I have tried to use BNC WC from FF800 to ADI-4 DD (Input state WC, terminated) but the same problem!

After changing cables and all combinations of settings, logic and crazy! Im out of ideas.
Please if anyone have an idea whats wrong, Im going crazy

Thanks from Jonas

AES Sync LEDs, ADAT Sync LEDs or both?

Re: FF800 to ADI-4 DD to TC sync problem

Hi Jeff
Just the AES sync leds on ADI4-DD. The leds are stabile when I start up, after 5-10 minuters leds start to flash and sound clicks.
ADAT1 led is stabile on both ff800 and ADI4

HEAT
As the sync started out stable but got out of sync after a while and the sound clicked more and more as time passed, something was fishy.

I realized that the FF800 box is really hot and the ADI sat on top of the FF800. So I moved the ADI and ... everything is stable. So the heat from FF800 heated up the ADI to a point were it lost sync! Is this really logical?

Had this happen with some old Digimax-LT preamps years ago.  Once they got hot, they started making all kinds of odd noises and wouldn't stay sync'd.  Added a blank slot between units and solved all issues...
