Topic: MacOS Sequoia can't see Babyface Pro FS

Hello users.

Yesterday I reinstall the system on my MacBook (M2 Silicon), before reinstall the system I had no problem with my Babyface Pro FS, however after installing the system does not want to open Totalmix, and the system does not show the interface as a playback source. I searched the forum, I found information to give permission in “Privacy & Protection” settings, but despite reinstalling Totalmix and RME Fireface USB Settings there is still no such option.
Firmware: v320 Driver: v4.16
Thank you for your help

Due to the fact that DriverKit did not want to work, I decided to run through Kernel. Now it works. Thank you for your help.

Re: MacOS Sequoia can't see Babyface Pro FS

I have a Babyface Pro and have been using it for years with no issues on a PC.
I recently purchased a Macbook Pro M3 and have not been able to get the Babyface Pro to work on this new computer.

Here are some of the configuration items:

Mac OS upgraded to Sequoia 15.0.1
Upgraded the firmware in the Babyface pro to the latest using my PC.
Installed the Driverkit drivers multiple times (never saw an Accept button to press)
Purchased an external power supply for the Babyface pro
Purchased a USB C/A adapter.

The Babyface Pro shows up fine on the PC and is not recognized on the Mac.

The only way I can get the Babyface pro to be recognized as a sound device on the Mac is by changing the mode of the device by pressing the select and dim buttons (while USB is unplugged).  The device then is recognized by the Mac, however the Fireface USB Settings application disappears in this mode.

When I put the mode back to the settings that work on the PC, the Babyface Pro is not recognized by the Mac and the Fireface USB Settings application shows up again (showing Firmware V206 Driver: v4.16).

In either case, the totalmix fx application always shows disconnected.

Can someone at RME shed some light on how to get this configuration to work properly.

Thanks.

In Sequoia there seems to be a new trick to learn - allow any USB device, plus allow login items. See here:

This info wrt getting TotalMix working on Sequoia really needs to be added to the RME DriverKit/TotalMix Installation steps webpage writeup and probably the MacOS install script.

I could not figure out why TotalMix would launch but wouldn't show any windows (No Available Windows) on MacOS Sequoia on my new M4 MacMini even though the Fireface USB Settings app ran ok and the Mac's USB tree info showed the Digiface USB as being present and recognized - until I found this specific post and then followed the link to the solution:

Go to "System Settings"-> "General" -> "Login Items & Extensions" -> find "Driver Extensions" where it says "de.rme-audio.dkusb" and click the information icon -> Turn on "Fireface USB Settings" and click Done.

Except that my Sequoia 15.3 shows "... Driver Extensions -> RME GmbH (on/off slider)"

Def burned a few hours and some brain cells (or maybe hair follicles) first tho ha

TotalMix seems to be working ok now (MacMini M4 / Sequoia 15.3)

Did you click the wrong link? It is there, right on the download page - top banner for instructions which include 'Sequoia'.

Hi, I wanted to tune in, I had the same problem in Sequoia 15.1.1 and turning on the drivers   "Driver Extensions" where it says "de.rme-audio.dkusb" enabled my MAC m1 16, to see Babyface pro FS.
BUT while now I can hear the audio in Total Mix, I can't hear/record it in Reaper (version 7.30) and this drives me a bit crazy. Repaer sees the Babyface pro FS in audio preferences and I selected it. But when in Reaper I select the inputs to record/monitor, there is total silence, in Total mix there is a sound, but in Reaper there is none. Obvious, in Reaper I've selected all 4 inputs where there should be sound, they are "armed", all the routing channel is setup properly (Analog 1/2 for channel 1-2 and inst 1/2 for channel 3/4) but there is no signal present.

Hope you can help me out to solve this issue. I have no idea why this is happening.

Re: MacOS Sequoia can't see Babyface Pro FS

For the Babyface Totalmix has to be enabled in the Microphone access list :
MacOS system preferences / Security & Privacy / Microphone
Totalmix has to be listed and enabled.

M1-Sequoia, Madiface Pro, Digiface USB, Babyface silver and blue

Re: MacOS Sequoia can't see Babyface Pro FS

Hi, same problem, I have M3 max with babyface Pro and it worked just fine until I updated to Sequoia 15.3. Then I cannot see my babyface in sound preference, even after enabling Totalmix in System / Preferences / Security & Privacy / Microphone. Please...
