RME User Forum → HDSP(e) series → Multiface 1 Adat in not working
I have been using an additional AD for years and suddenly I thought it stopped working.
But in fact it seems to be the Multiface.
If I do a Loopback Test with SPDIF it works fine. If I switch the SPDIF Operation off for in and out I get no lock for ADAT.
I reinstalled Drivers still same Problem.
Any ideas?
You also did a loopback test with the adat cable ?
What's the ADAT source? Have you also tried another cable?

I did the Loopbacktest with the optical cable.
Signal and synch lock did work fine for SPDIF.
So I did not try another Cable so far.
Adat Loopback with the Cable does not work.
I do not get a lock with the external unit and loopback.
The source unit is a Behringer ADA8200.
The setup has worked fine for a long time.
Are you saying optical spdif works and adat not? Then it is not the optical receiver that is faulty afaik.

Just to be sure, both input and output for optical are set to adat, clock to 44,1k internal? tried 2 cables at least? Adat has a 4 times higher transfer speed I think, so might be more sensitive to cable breaks
Settings were correct. I ordered a Cable .. The idea with the higher Bandwith came to my mind this morning also

Ok, new cable, same behavior on the loopback test with cable, SPDIF working fine ADAT dead : (

Please provide a screenshot of the settings dialog.
Using ADAT format the SPDIF Input must be set to Coaxial, AFAIR.
I found something strange...32KHz ADAT cable Loopback does lock 
I found one more thing, samplerate does jump odd with SPDIF
These pics are unreadable. Anyway, most probably the optical TOSLINK Rreceiver is out of spec and needs to be replaced. Time for service...
Oh , doh used the minature link ..
I guess it would be more cost effective to score a used Multiface
