Topic: RME ADI2 DAC FS and power supply

Hello all, I have the possibility to power my RME ADI2 DAC FS with a Sbooster that I got through a goods exchange. The SBooster in question has the following selectable current outputs. 12V/3 Ampere, 13V/2.25 Ampere and finally 13.5 Volt/2 Ampere. I know that the standard power supply supplies 12 Volts, but I understand little about electronics and I ask you experts what is best to select from the SBooster to be fed to the RME (I've read that it provides up to 15 Volts) Thank you all for the kindness .

Re: RME ADI2 DAC FS and power supply

They specify 12V, their PS delivers 12V.

What's your question?

Re: RME ADI2 DAC FS and power supply

Yes, more than 12V wouldn't make sense.

And tell us later, if you notice any difference between supplied PSU and the Sbooster.

Cheers

Cheers, Ernst

I understood that the power supply that comes with RME gives 12V, I also wrote that, the question is whether to give it 13.5V or 12V. What could happen? Does it sound better, does it sound worse, does it explode and catch fire?

I've read of people who give it 15V, and mine is simple curiosity aimed at those who are doing it or have tried to do it.

Greetings

Thanks KaiS, but you see the linear power supply didn't cost me anything, so I'll use it regardless of the goodness of the supplied SMPS.

I have all electronics powered by LPS, except the RME. Now everything is standardized.

Thanks anyway, D

Re: RME ADI2 DAC FS and power supply

I'll be buying the DPS-2 for my ADI-2/4 when it comes out. Looking forward to MC revealing what the "extras" will be, that he mentioned recently

Re: RME ADI2 DAC FS and power supply

FWIW, I got the MCRU (12 volts) LPS and it makes an audible difference. Irrelevant what the founder of RME says, etc.

In an earlier thread you did not notice that the ADI-2 DAC was set to mono, so there is that for detection of audible differences. roll
