Topic: RME UFX Durec not working

I've had my UFX since new and Durec used to work fine.

I've had the power supply replaced a couple of times. I'm not sure if firewire works or not as I use it with USB (though I recall I may have had problems with Firewire in the past)

When I try to record now, the drives (tried with an identical drive to what I used to use and a Sandisk USB stick) the files always record silence or full scale (depending on channel) and the files always come up as 18 channel 32 kHz regardless of how many channels I record, and the file name is always messed up on the UFX.

The drives are formatted as FAT32 with 32k cluster sizes.

The UFX has the latest updates installed.  I'm running Win10 Pro (though that shouldn't matter)

Can anyone help or suggest what might be wrong with it that I can pass on to a tech to get it fixed.

This is not about updates but a (probably) 10 years old unit where the hardware fails. Echo / Reverb will not work as well, menu shows errors:

Thanks Matthias,

What is involved in fixing this? Is it a new board, or RAM or DSP that needs replacing.  Indeed the FX don't work (but I never use them, so that's not an issue to me) but DuRec is really handy to us. I'd like to get this fixed as I can't afford to replace it at this stage. I'll be dropping it at the authorized repairer, but if I can give him a heads up of what's required first, it will be a much faster turnaround.

The unit will be sent in to Germany AFAIK, and costs will be communicated before repair.

Should I send this via my normal repair guy, or should I contact support from your website to organize this?

Hi,
I am in Canada and have same error and DUREC is recording silence. Had one session when all chanels recorded digital noise and now just silence and this 32 Khz files. Very similar problem and same errors on hardware diagnostics.

I assume it would cost thousands of dollars to fix it. But would it bring any other issues if left alone? Reverb does not work; EQ does work. The unit was bought in 2013 maybe.
