Topic: NOOB to Room EQ - measured using REW - what next?

Been looking around and haven't seen a basic description of how to use the results of REW in TotalMix.

I did an L, R, and L+R analysis - I think I did it correctly.  But no idea what to do next.

There are a lot of tutorials for REW.   But nothing for using the results in RME.

Also, I did not do the loopback test in REW.  I'm assuming the RME's response is probably pretty flat -- am I wrong and this is an important step?

Thx

You need to process the result with a 9-band PEQ for export. This is not found as fixed preset, use the Configurable EQ to set up one.

The result is a text file that allows you to manually enter the values into the Room EQ panel.

Re: NOOB to Room EQ - measured using REW - what next?

Yikes.

I see Generic & Configurable PEQ options on the EQ screen.  Do I just change the # of filters to 9?  (pretty much just guessing at this point!). Do I need to recalculate the band widths?

Also I assume my target should be Full Range Speaker as I don't have a sub?  And no idea if I need to set anything else like room dimensions.

Here a video which you can use with REW and Room EQ: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGrkeE- … bHRlcnM%3D

Thx - I duplicated the steps in the video.  But the end result is a wav file.

How do I get values I can import into TotalMix that are divided into 9 bands?

Re: NOOB to Room EQ - measured using REW - what next?

Just bumping this - I followed the steps and created the correction EQ file from REW, but it's just a wav.

Is there a way to get text values from REW or the Wav file that I can import or manually add to TotalMix' Room EQ?

Thx!

Re: NOOB to Room EQ - measured using REW - what next?

Has anyone actually done this?!

TotalMix Import doesn't recognize any of the exported files from REW.

What type of file do I save my filers as in REW?

I'm on the latest drivers & totalmix (fireface ufx+)

There almost infinite ways I can overlook something! :-). Also, I started trying to figure this out back in March.

OK, so I have 1.96 v7 running and see the new Import REW menu choice. I already had most of the filter settings in REW from the video you posted.

But I need to double check REW because the export file is missing the actual EQ calibrations, which are blank.  Also, do I need to create separate left and right exports from REW?

=====update

I exported my settings from the wrong measurements but now have it all working. Seems like it smoothed out the high end which is probably the main issue in my small space.

I noticed a couple of the high EQ bands weren't populated.  Is this normal?  I don't see anything I've missed yet in REW.

Any idea why I don't see all 9 bands in REW?  I've checked the settings several times and don't see an issue.

The measurement goes up to 20K so there seems to be data.  But the upper bands have no values.
