Please, would it be possible?

OK in that case TM could force interface to load one of six presets and then read it from interface. But OK, I see it is not as simple as it seemed to be. And there are probably more important things to work on....

But still, it would be IMHO handy, if implemented one day.

Thanks Kubrak

The current total state is just a (one) state, and not a memory slot. For storing that one  1 or 6 times there is no memory.

In our multi user environment the upload often leads to confusion and questions, because most users assume that it uploads everything.

We therefore provide a workspace for everyone to manually import to their laptops, which also has its problems: Especially as the fader groups only come up correctly in all the snapshots of bespoken workspace, if "--" is selected under the "Do not load" section in the Preferences under Snapshots & Workspaces.

I would suggest to changes for the next version of Total Mix:
Please make that "--" setting and "Always init DSP devices with Total Mix FX setting" the standard/initial settings after a fresh install.

Thanks for your consideration.

Sound like a good idea / default to me. +1

To load a predefined volume is IMHO a good idea.
I also would expect that most people would like to restore the last settings when the device was last connected to the PC.

Re: TotalMix Fx 1.97 Beta – public preview available Windows/Mac

1) Or does the "Always init DSP devices with Total Mix FX setting" get saved within a workspace anyhow? Then it doesn't matter so much if it is checked by default or not...
It would actually mak sense if this is part of the workspace, also for the new "Load Room EQs with Snapshot" setting (I didn't test..., so that everything comes up correctly when loading a workspace which might contain one or the other way.

2) The do not load "--" as default after install I find really important though, in order to correctly transfer workspaces.
Or is there is a better global save for all Total Mix settings, to share among users of a studio environment and transfer the settings to new computers?

Preferences are stored separate from workspaces.

You find the XML file on Windows in the user profile, location:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\TotalMixFX\rme.totalmix.preferences.xml

The mentioned settings are in the XML element "Preferences"

<Preferences>
        <Preferences>
                         [...]
            <val e="DoNotLoadMainVolume" v="0"/>
                         [...]
            <val e="AlwaysUseTotalmixSettings" v="1"/>
                         [...]
        </Preferences>
[...]
</Preferences>

The preferences should not change that much, for me its always the same so you can configure it one time and then forget about it.

As the file also contains the names of Quick Workspace Select files, I would recommend making the required changes one time in TotalMix FX.

Or to change the default to what most people would regard as useful (the topic of your request, in the hope that it also serves others well).

Re: TotalMix Fx 1.97 Beta – public preview available Windows/Mac

Many thanks, Matthias, 1.97 beta 2 works nicely :-)

I like the new features to remember the last configured Bank under "Settings -> Aux. Devices" and showing the status of a remote connection, whether its "active".

This is very user-friendly and gives a good overview on whether remote control is established.

Also thanks for implementing knobs for TRS and Inst on 12Mic's channels 1-4, works like a charm :-)

Re: TotalMix Fx 1.97 Beta – public preview available Windows/Mac

Could it be that I found a little bug in 1.97b2?

I am just wondering if the selected Layout Preset is not being recovered after restarting TM FX either
a) by quitting TM FX and restarting or
b) by rebooting the PC.

If you select a Layout Preset the button turns blue and stays blue when loading a workspace or workspace quick select slot.

But as soon as you quit TM FX and restart it, then all Layout Preset buttons are dark.

Shouldn't it be the case, that TM FX should represent the last state when starting up?
And to the last state I would also regard the selected Layout Preset and then it should be lit.

Layout Preset selected and stored to Snapshot1:

After Restart of TM FX:

Wonderful! All works for me with 1.97b2 big_smile

I was able to quit Totalmix, restore my 12mic saved preset via web interface, restart Totalmix and all my settings came over.

Thanks!

I wrote in the 1.96 Beta thread reporting a small issue regarding fader groups not being saved under certain conditions and I've just discovered now in 1.97 b1 a bit more about the issue.

I'm trying to save 2 different output faders into a Fader group - one stereo main out and one mono LFE output. Use case here is trying to sync a subwoofer fader to be part of main volume out in a 2.1 setup.

I have a workspace where one snapshot is 2.0 and another snapshot is 2.1. If I save the workspace when the 2.1 snapshot is selected and fader group on as described, and later reload this workspace, the Fader group with Main Out + LFE out is still grouped as expected. If I then select any other snapshot and come back to my 2.1 snapshot the LFE channel is not remembered in the group I made.

Also if I save the workspace with anything other than the 2.1 snapshot selected and reload the workspace and then select the 2.1 snapshot the LFE fader is also left out of the group.

Hopefully this makes sense so it can be logged.

I wanted to add one more comment about my earlier post in this thread about 2.1 bass management and the groups issue I mentioned.

My workaround for this is to have a whole workspace dedicated to only 1 snapshot that has the bass management set up with the fader group on. If I do this and only have one snapshot in the workspace the grouping works. It's only when you open a workspace and switch to a different snapshot that the grouping issue arises.

Kind regards

For the devs:

Would you please add more shortcut options in the "Arc & Key" command section of TotalMix in order to assist Blind/Visually Impaired persons to access more settings in their RME product?

Thanks all over the place.

Yes, that is where it should be, but now that I notice, I'm not even seeing Room EQ come up, only the old EQ, but when I go to Help>About it shows that I'm running 1.97.

This makes no sense.

I tried all of that, and definitely killed all relevant processes prior to copying over the file. Again, About shows I'm on 1.97, the file in System32 is the 1.97 version and my firmware is current on my UFXIII. I even reinstalled the drivers and downgraded to 1.96 (Room EQ still not there) and then upgraded to 1.97 per the instructions, but Room EQ is still not showing up. Is there another way to confirm which version is running?

Again, see here, that in the System32 file I have 1.97:

Room EQ is on the wrench tab of the output, not on the EQ tab. Did you look there? Otherwise no need to juggle with executables and DLLs.
