Topic: Digiface Dante USB B to C Cable

Hi, ist it possible to use a USB 3.0/1 B to USB C Cable on a MacBook?
Does it work, or what should i get instead?

The Digiface Dante will arrive on Friday and i would like to order something that works.

The unit comes with a USB cable.
Not sure it has a USB-C connector.
If you order one : USB 3 cable with connectors USB-B to USB-C

I have such a cable at home, but i wonder if it is the right solution.

There was a time, when you need a special usb c to usb 3.0 dock
to have a proper connection to a fireface UFX on a mac.

That Macbook is a new one M-Mac ? Behind the USB-C connectors is thunderbolt, therefore no need of additional dock or hub.

No, the MBP is from 2018.

The macmini is usbc/ thunderbold too, but it needed a true usb 3 port ->The CalDigit Mini Dock

The Digiface USB is a USB-2 interface, the cable from the photo above will work on every computer with USB-C connector.

Answer is: maybe. Some USB cables are really bad in quality. It is impossible to tell from looking at the picture or even referencing specific cables on Amazon. If it is according to spec then it should work without a problem, especially if it is not very long (ie. not longer than one meter). You can inspect CRC error counters in the driver dialog to find out if there are issues with the cable. I am using a cheap (ie. less than 10 USD) cable similar to the one waedi shows and it works without any issues.
