@Happy_Amateur: collapsing or hiding of channels are stored in Layout Presets, not in a TotalMix FX snapshot and
is being saved in or restored by a workspace file or workspace quick select.
TotalMix FX will remember the current settings and if it quits (or when rebooting your computer)
this last state is being written into the file last.<recordinginterfacename><number>.xml.
On the next reboot, this file is being loaded again and you will see the same state.
I stored my usual Channel Layout in Layout Preset 1 as "Used Ch" (Used Channels) because I hide some not needed.
Along with that, you also save the state of Channels, whether collapsed or not or to show EQ and what not.
You can always come back to this view of channels by clicking to this Layout Preset and from this on it is being used.
If you change the view, then this is persistent, even if using a different Snapshot.
When restoring a Workspace by loading a workspace file or by using Workspace Quick Select (ALT-1..n (n=1-9),
then the channel state is being shown in the state when you stored the workspace.
What is stored where is explained in my blog article, it also explains how to make backups,
or how you can restore quickly after changing something using Workspace Quick select:

Then a general remark
Please tell the firmware, driver, and TM FX version explicitly to be clear in communication.
"Latest driver" is not suitable for troubleshooting, as you might be wrong. Furthermore, after some time, the latest is not the latest anymore. If somebody reads this after weeks or months, then "latest driver" is worthless.
Proposal
If you think you have an issue, I would make and test using the latest firmware, driver, and software versions.
TM FX is bundled with the driver.
After driver installation, check whether the installed version of TM FX is really the latest 1.97.
If not, install it manually, the download link you find in the forum.

You need to quit TM FX first before you can rename it to TotalMixFX-<version>.exe.
I would not delete the old version, this way you can always quit TM FX and use a later version for comparison if needed.
